Our Story
Our Story
A recipe born from tradition.
A product trusted by thousands.
Every jar of WinterCrest has a story behind it — one that starts with a woman who believed deeply in the body's ability to heal, and continues today through the hands of her family and the thousands of runners, athletes, and active adults who've made it part of their lives.
Where It All Began
The Woman Behind the Balm
WinterCrest was created by Rev. Judi Sorensen — known in her healing community as Fire Eagle Medicine Woman — a woman who devoted her life to the study and practice of natural healing traditions.
Drawing on generations of knowledge about the body's relationship with nature, she developed a recipe for a topical balm unlike anything else on the market. It wasn't formulated in a lab or designed by committee. It was handcrafted with intention, one batch at a time, by someone who believed that the simplest remedies — made with care — could make the biggest difference.
She called it WinterCrest — and she gave it to anyone willing to try it. Word spread. Runners tried it before races. Neighbors used it for morning stiffness. Friends gifted jars to other friends. The product didn't need a marketing campaign. It just needed to work. And according to the people who used it, it did.
A Family Tradition, Continued
When Rev. Judi's family took over the making of WinterCrest, they made a promise: nothing would change about the product itself. The same recipe. The same process. The same small-batch, handcrafted approach that she insisted on from the very beginning.
Today, every jar and every sports stick of WinterCrest is still made by her family, following her original recipe. There's no factory, no assembly line, no outsourcing. It's made the same way it's always been made — by hand, with care, in small batches.
That's not the most efficient way to make a product. But it's the right way. And it's why people who try WinterCrest can feel the difference from the first application.
How We Found WinterCrest
From the St. George Running Center to Your Door
WinterCrest Health is operated and distributed by the St. George Running Center in Southern Utah. We've been part of the running community here for years — fitting shoes, supporting local races, and helping people of all ages and abilities stay active.
We first encountered WinterCrest through the local running and sporting events community. When we saw how many athletes and active adults were using it — and how passionate they were about it — we knew it deserved a wider audience. Since 2006, we've been the premier online distributor, bringing WinterCrest to customers across the country through our website and at events throughout the Southwest.
We believe in this product because we've seen what it does for people. Not in a lab — at finish lines, at the Huntsman World Senior Games, and in the conversations we have every day at the Running Center with people who tell us WinterCrest has become part of their routine.
Built by Word of Mouth
WinterCrest has never had a national ad campaign, a celebrity endorsement, or a viral social media moment. It's grown the old-fashioned way — one person at a time, telling someone they care about.
A runner uses it before the St. George Marathon and tells their training partner. A grandmother finds relief from morning stiffness and buys jars for her friends. A tennis player at the Huntsman World Senior Games tries it between matches and orders the sports stick the next week.
That's how WinterCrest went from one woman's handcrafted recipe to a product trusted by thousands of people across the Southwest and beyond. No hype. No gimmicks. Just a product that people feel good about using — and feel good about sharing.
